On December 6, 2007, the Central Louisiana's "Christmas Box Angel" Memorial Statue held its first Candlelight Vigil. The response to this event was outstanding, and therefore confirmed the necessity of this memorial in Central Louisiana.
Every December 6th, a crowd of people gather at the "Christmas Box" Angel of Hope at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Pineville, LA, to honor their lost loved ones. The event includes a short service, singing, and a reflective message. It concludes with everyone having the chance to place a rose near the "Angel", light a candle and say the name(s) of their loved ones.
Our 2009 Candlelight Vigil began with a prelude of beautiful harp music. Father Michael Bertrand from St. James Episcopal Church conducted the service. Parents, family and friends lined up to commemorate their loved ones and to place a white rose at the base of the statue.
Below is a few of the many who attended our third candlelight vigil.
